Upcoming Events for the Rest of June

I admit, I’m a bit behind posting food events for the month of June since it tends to be the slower time of the summer months (in my personal opinion). Here’s two notable events that I think is worthwhile:

Chelsea Music Festival
Website: http://www.chelseamusicfestival.org/
Dates: June 15th to June 23rd, 2012
Check their website for ticket prices.
The Chelsea Music Festival brings together world-class musicians and exciting newcomers to the international stage, CMF 2012 promises a multi-dimensional exploration of the interplay of music, the visual arts and inventive culinary expression. The Festival once again invites artists and audiences of all ages to experience music in established as well as unconventional settings, exploring the dynamism among art forms, genres and cultures, and reflecting the encounter of tradition with the contemporary.

This year’s French-Japanese Festival theme will commemorate the 150th anniversary of French composer Claude Debussy and the Centennial of the U.S. Cherry Blossom Festival, and celebrate the ongoing inspirational exchange between Japanese and French artists that began with the 1889 World Expo in Paris.

Chef Lance Nitahara is the CMF 2012 Culinary Artist-in-Residence. He designed and cook the post-concert receptions throughout the week with menus inspired by distinctive elements of each Festival event.
