Old World Elegance and Luxury at Waldorf Astoria Shanghai (上海外滩华尔道夫酒店)
The Waldorf Astoria Shanghai is an elegant historic (the original portion opened in 1911) hotel has restored the heritage Shanghai gentleman’s club to its former glory, located in the heart of The Bund. This is the most glamorous hotel in town. Lovingly-restored in Neo-Classic style, the hotel decor is opulent but understated with trembling crystal chandeliers, lots of gleaming marble, and a working antique cage lift.
The hotel offers a level of residential comfort that feels almost better than home, and nowhere is this more evident than in the 252 guestrooms and 20 luxury suites. Rooms are light and airy, with white-painted wood paneling and a neutral color scheme increasing the sense of space.
Rooms are decked out in nostalgic American style, with modern plush touches such as large walk-in closets, Salvatore Ferragamo bathing amenities and digital TVs embedded in the mirrors. The rooms offer amazing views of the Bund and other parts of the city. It’s luxe without putting on airs.
Our stay here is simply divine. Sumptuous, luxurious, the utmost comfort you’ll ever find and the best way to unwind from a long day of sightseeing all over Shanghai.
