Lovely Stay at Hôtel du Louvre (Paris, France)

When my traveling companion and I were in Paris, we stayed at the grand Five Star Hôtel du Louvre, a Hyatt property. The hotel is located at the busy intersection of the Avenue de l’Opera and Rue de Richelieu near the famed I.M. Pei pyramids at the Louvre. It’s very conveniently close to the Opéra Garnier and the Palais Royal. Place Vendôme, Place de la Concorde, the Marais neighborhood, and the Tuileries Garden. Built in 1855, this hotel is one of the oldest in the City of Lights (it was a former mansion of the Champagne family Taittinger). It features..

Heaven on Earth – Hotel Hermitage (Monte Carlo, Monaco)

I would daresay, I have stayed and visited at a fair number of luxury hotels but by far my favorite is Hotel Hermitage in Monte Carlo. Everything about this hotel is beautiful and luxurious from the moment you step through the rotating doors and be greeted by the sight of fresh flowers (we saw hydrangea first then orchids) at the comfortable, pastel colored main lobby, all done up in Belle Époque style. This hotel was built in the early 1900s and is one of the two best luxury hotels in Monte Carlo. Its competition the Hotel De Paris is undergoing..

Bar 8 at Mandarin Oriental Paris (Paris, France)

<img Mandarin Oriental Paris is a stunning, sleek hotel found in one of the toniest shopping and sightseing neighborhoods in Paris. The Mandarin Oriental is one of my favorite luxury hotel brands to visit and stay with whenever possible (as seen from my travels to Asia and Boston). This time around we dropped by for pre-dinner drinks and snacks at Bar 8 at their zen-like courtyard after passing though their glamourous and futuristic lobby and dark, chic bar with an eye catching marble bar. Luxurious Hotel Pulitzer Amsterdam & Lunch at Jansz

On my recent trip to Amsterdam last week, I stayed at the gorgeous Hotel Pulitzer Amsterdam. This hotel has heritage and prestige given its twenty-five restored 17th and 18th century houses that were once homes of prosperous trade merchants and the decadent and flamboyant Dutch aristocrats. The hotel grounds now encompass nearly an entire city block along Prinsengracht, the canal dedicated to the Prince of Orange. This hotel is still under renovations when I was there but when I entered the hotel, it felt like entering a high-end private residence. On the left of the door, you enter the very..

Ritz Carlton Hong Kong, relocated and opened in March 2011, is located on the top of Hong Kong’s tallest building (on floors 102 to 118) of the International Commerce Centre (ICC), with 484 meters or 1588 feet of the 7th tallest building in the world and the highest skyscraper in Hong Kong. Old World Elegance and Luxury at Waldorf Astoria Shanghai (上海外滩华尔道夫酒店)

The Waldorf Astoria Shanghai is an elegant historic (the original portion opened in 1911) hotel has restored the heritage Shanghai gentleman’s club to its former glory, located in the heart of The Bund.
