If you do seek an intense chocolate session either by yourself or with a few friends in Singapore, the best place for that is The Dark Gallery. This brand has two locations in Takashimaya Singapore or at Millenia Walk. We visited the former.
This cafe at Takashimaya is front loaded with displays containing beautiful cakes (containing various degrees of chocolate you want your cake to have), bonbons, pastries and ice creams. There is a good amount of seating in the back of the shop.
They source their chocolates utilized in their chocolate desserts and beverages from trusted chocolate brands like Cacao Barry and Valrhona.
Since it is hot in Singapore, the Dark Hazelnut Frozen Chocolate Cube Latte is a very good, cold drinkable treat. It’s served in a handsome tray filled with a tall cold carafe of milk and a tiny beaker filled with a double espresso shot sweetened with hazelnut syrup, and a glass filled with frozen chocolate cubes so it will not dilute your drink. The frozen chocolate cubes are key to this drink and I feel happy to have this every sweltering afternoon I am in Singapore.
If you do crave a sophisticated chocolate sundae, the Chocolate Rhapsody (seen below) would be it. It’s a trio of chocolate ice creams: 32% Dulcey chocolate ice cream, 38% milk chocolate ice cream, and 80% dark chocolate ice cream hits the spot for me. The bed of crushed chocolate cookie crumbs and shards of chocolate added a crunchy texture. It’s sweet but overwhelmingly so and I don’t have a deal with a huge mound of whipped cream.
