[Translate] This weekend is the Food Film Festival 2016, celebrating its 10th year at the AMC 25 Empire in Times Square. [Translate] Two nights ago, I was invited to the Penthouse Suite of Sheraton Times Square to celebrate the second year of Sheraton Social Hour (links to their Facebook page), sponsored by one of my favorite Champagnes, Nicolas Feuillate. Like last year, the party was fabulous – good food, very good wines, we’re all in a gorgeous suite that has views of Times Square, a glimpse of Central Park, and the Hudson River. [Translate] The scene, food & drink during StarChefs’ Rising Star VIP Hour This year’s StarChefs Rising Stars took place at the historic Liberty Theater in Times Square. Many of the exhibitors of various spirits, cocktails and wines poured for the evening have been awarded high honors at the Ultimate Beverage Challenge (UBC) competitions held earlier this year at Astor Center. Here’s some of the highlights of the evening: (more…)
[Translate] Getting invited to see and taste this year’s NTDTV’s 3rd Annual Cooking Competition at Times Square’s Duffy Square was quite an interesting and admittedly, unconventional spot to host an event like this. I would never imagine having an outdoor cooking competition smack in the middle of the busiest, tourist-filled area. But they’ve built platforms, a stage, four kitchens (that look like this), and several tables for VIPs and press. Cameras were everywhere and yes, the food smelled amazing as the 23 chefs from Australia, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan and the United States were duking it out with the..
