Wonderful Stay at Alexis Hotel (Seattle, WA)

Alexis Hotel is an upscale boutique hotel, featuring 121 eclectic guestrooms that cater to every possible personality, is about as perfectly located as a downtown hotel can be. Many of Seattle’s most desirable sightseeing destinations are within easy walking distance, as are a vast selection of top-notch restaurants. It also sits right on First Avenue, directly above Puget Sound; a few rooms do have partial water views but many face neighboring buildings. Better harbor views can be found at hotels a few blocks north.

We stayed at the Fireplace Suite where it feels very cozy to curl up by the fire with a book and the spacious living area is great spread out. The bedroom section is elegantly finished and has a comfortable king sized bed with a good sized marble bathroom attached.

Really cool wall of books and liquor at the bar
Our breakfast spread

We had a very delicious breakfast at the Bookstore Bar & Café, the hotel’s attached restaurant. The contemporary American fare is hearty and tasty. The service was very welcoming and you feel at home at this restaurant’s dining area. The bar area is unique with the antique bookstore feel and the built-in bookshelf walls lined with a spectrum of whiskeys and old books. It’s a popular spot for the locals and hotel guests.

Lox bruschetta on rye
Bookstore Parisienne

Of the bunch of dishes we had, we really enjoyed the lox bruschetta on rye. It’s almost a large open-faced sandwich of silky lox and the medium-thick slices of rye worked wonderfully with the schmear of cream cheese, capers, slivers of red onion, and microgreens. The Parisienne was a delectable ham and cheese sandwich was solidly made.

Cheeseburger with an over easy egg on top

The most memorable thing we ate was the cheeseburger with an over-easy egg. It’s decadent, juicy and it has the particular aged beef flavor that makes it oh-so-delicious. The yolky egg makes it divine and sexy with the cheeseburger.
