Atemporal – A Dreamy Boutique Hotel (Lima, Peru)

When I visited Lima, Peru for the first time in October 2022, I was astonished by the beauty of the city as my Uber driver drove me from the airport to my boutique hotel called Atemporal. The rugged, tall mountains meets the dreamy beach coastline that gives the feeling that you can have the best of both worlds in a natural setting.

When I finally arrived to Atemporal, I was simply stunned how this 1940’s Peruvian Tudor style mansion looked. When I step through the front gate and heavy wooden door of the home/boutique hotel, it’s truly a special place. This hotel is designed by the same award-winning design team behind Titilaka, CIRQA, and Hotel B. It’s a contemporary house but it feels timeless at the same time.

I stayed at the “Charming” room that has lovely light filtering through the windows in the morning. It’s spacious and the beds are wonderfully firm. The bathroom is arguably the size of a studio apartment in New York City. At night, it’s very quiet and I have had peaceful nights of restful sleep.

What is included with the stay is full breakfast at the gorgeous backyard. It’s usually a board of fresh fruits, delicious cups of yogurt and granola, fresh squeezed juice, and a board of cheeses, ham and the ripe avocado. Avocado in Peru is unlike what I have eaten in the U.S. it’s so much more flavor even though it’s a creamy fruit. You may have an option to have two eggs cooked in any style you want from fried, scrambled to omelet. During the evenings, the kitchen is open for a small spread of a bundt cake and cookies that are baked daily, a small charcuterie spread and some sparkling wine and local beer to drink.

The staff at Atemporal are great people. Friendly yet professional and they are willing to do their best to make me (and any guest staying here) feel comfortable. One of those mornings when I was having breakfast outside, it felt a bit chilly so I asked if they may turn on the heater. They’ve done it without any hesitation.

I would definitely come back to Atemporal when I return to Lima. It’s equally pampered luxury but it feels like home at the same time.
