I have read good things about the new restaurant PAGU by chef/owner Tracy Chang (formerly of O Ya) in Cambridge’s Central Square. It’s a spacious restaurant with a variety of seating options, some of which change from a breakfast-and-lunch cafe-style configuration to a nighttime pintxos bar. Salinas is a tapas restaurant in Chelsea, conveniently located a few blocks north of Chelsea Market, that actually serves very good Spanish fare. The type of Spanish cuisine Chef Luis Bollo cooks is trendy but not much of the molecular or modernist techniques involved. One of my dinners in London was at Camino. It’s a mini-restaurant chain of four Spanish tapas restaurants, a sherry bar (Bar Pepito) and Cava bar Copa de Cava, all in London. I went to their restaurant in King’s Cross as it was very close to where I was staying (at St Pancras Renaissance Hotel). 100 Montaditos is a Spanish restaurant chain that has multiple locations in Florida before this particular location in Bleecker Street in Manhattan has opened for about three months. What we liked about this restaurant is that it is a laid back atmosphere that if you want to eat in, you’d have to scout for any open tables in the back dining room and head back to the front to order your food and beverages. Plan B signage and interior Plan B restaurant is an eccentric, tongue-in-cheek kind of tapas restaurant that sticks out from other tapas restaurants. Some menu items are familiar but have a certain twist the makes it different (like their take on a Cubano sandwich) and some are offal cuts that not many restaurants would think of selling (e.g. bulls testicles, which I’ll explain that experience later).
