Broadway Burger Bar at Tropicana Atlantic City (Atlantic City, NJ)

[Translate] Exterior Guacamole and pico de gallo served with tortilla chips Root beer float with vanilla ice cream If you have a craving for something a little more than your average burger in Atlantic City, Broadway Burger Bar is your best bet. This casual eatery focuses primarily on the fresh ground burgers perfectly cooked to order and topped in many ways possible. There is a small section of salads, appetizers and sandwiches. We had a bevy of the aforementioned (seen at the top of this post) and enjoyed them all. The burgers were juicy, cooked to beautifully medium-rare, seasoned well..

The Continental (Atlantic City, NJ)

[Translate] I’ve taken a short break to Atlantic City, NJ for a couple of days near the Christmas holiday to get away from New York. For those who have heard of Atlantic City recently, it has past its prime but it is not bad either. The last time I have been to this city was in 2011 and I think the food scene changed for the better. Our first meal was dinner at The Continental. When you walk up to the restaurant, it looks vaguely like the Jetsons meet 1950s diner. If you get over the quirky decor of the..

Buick Discovery Tour 2013 in Morristown, New Jersey

[Translate] Lobby of The Westin Governor Morris & Buick cars This weekend I was invited to attend Buick Discovery Tour 2013 at The Westin Governor Morris in Morristown, New Jersey. It was a collaboration between Food & Wine and Buick with its goals of making memories and lasting impressions with food, wine, and of course, test driving a few Buick cars. I was wondering after being invited was: I’m generally not their typical target consumer and I never drove/own any Buicks or any American car, actually, so I thought, it’s unusual but I attended this event with an open mind...

A Brief Trip Down to Atlantic City – Showboat and Harrah’s

[Translate] Atlantic City, NJ I had the opportunity to have a brief weekend trip to Atlantic City, New Jersey the past Friday. Then it was the classically hot and humid day when I left New York City and eventually it rained during toward evening unlike that gorgeous blue skies you see on this photo above on Saturday. I was invited to meet celebrity chefs Aarón Sanchez for dinner and Chris Nirschel for his cooking class later in the evening at Harrah’s. Inside the Foundation Room in the Showboat and snacks and drinks When I arrived to Atlantic City, I met..

The Spiked Lunch at Philip’s Seafood, Caesar’s Palace, Atlantic City

[Translate] Spiked Lunch at Philip’s Seafood The Spiked Lunch event that was part of the Annual Atlantic City Food & Wine Festival 2011 took place at the Phillip’s Seafood Restaurant at Caesar’s Palace. I was relatively surprised as to the format of this event. Instead of it being buffet style with a raw bar and other seafood dishes, it’s a sit-down lunch including five-courses that has a touch of booze (hence the event name “spiked lunch”) and paired with a cocktail. In my mind, this translates to one of those long brunches that will give you a hangover if you..

Day 3 with StarChefs.com ICC and NY Rising Stars Gala

[Translate] The third and final day for StarChefs.com’s International Culinary Congress has arrived and after speaking to several chefs and attendees who were there that morning, they were exhausted not just because it is 10 AM, it’s because of the parties they went to the night before that went into the wee hours of the morning. Chef Mendes, oils to sip, and the dishes he demonstrated Since I wanted to save my energy from going workshop to workshop, I attended one that is co-hosted by Aldea‘s Chef/Owner George Mendes and the president/CEO of a Spanish olive oil company. The idea..
