Easter Cakes & Chocolates from Financier Patisserie

[Translate] Easter is next weekend and those of you who need a few sweets on the table (and in New York City), Financier Patisserie is a solid option. They have multiple locations around Manhattan and the tasty sweets are reasonably priced. The Frasier cake slice is technically their year-round cake option but they made it spring inspired with the white chocolate strip with eye catching colorful print spring flowers. The cake itself is light and delicate from the almond macaron cake, mousseline, vanilla biscuit, vanilla buttercream and fresh strawberries. (more…)

Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea at Home with Financier Patisserie

[Translate] This past Saturday, I had Mother’s Day afternoon tea with my family at home. I am well aware, it’s slightly less than a week away from Mother’s Day, May 11th but since we’re all adults leading our own busy lives (parents are traveling, my brother is on a business trip, and I have my own plans that weekend), this is as close as I can show appreciation for my mother. We were fortunate with the weather as it was a gloriously warm and sunny day to dine outside on my balcony. I opted to exclusively serve Financier Patisserie as..

New Savory Croissants at Financier Patisserie

[Translate] Financier Patisserie will be offering limited edition savory croissants starting on National Croissant Day, Friday, January 30th. This makes it an apt time for Chef Eric Bedoucha to launch savory croissants to the bakery’s already excellent line-up of delectable French pastries. This Florentine wheel, Chicken, Mushroom bechamel triangle – and glazed pecan croissants This past weekend, I had the opportunity to have a preview of Financier Patisserie‘s upcoming release of their three limited edition, so to speak, croissants in the honor of National Croissant Day, Thursday, January 30, 2014. The three croissant creations that Chef Eric Bedoucha and his..

Holiday 2013 Cakes from Financier Patisserie

[Translate] Snow falling in Bryant Park (NYC) This morning was another round of snow but I was in Bryant Park’s Winter Village and skating rink to meet up and ice skate with a few friends. It feels and looks romantic in ways with the flakes floating down the sky. At any rate, by the time we’ve done our rounds in the not too crowded rink, since it’s snowing and we’ve arrived relatively early for a Saturday morning, we’ve walked a few blocks east to Grand Central Terminal to get a few sweets at Financier Patisserie. All in the name of..

2013 Holiday Cakes from Financier Patisserie

[Translate] I’m no stranger to Financier Patisserie. Several years ago I used to write about Financier’s various pastries and generally liked them a lot. This year, Financier released a Thanksgiving/Hanukkah cakes and pie menu. For the unaware, this year both holidays almost fall on the same date this year; Hanukkah starts on sundown of Wednesday, November 27th and Thanksgiving is the next day. For me, I love cakes for holidays. It slightly trumps pie (they do offer pecan pie) because cakes look festive. The stunning Marquis is layered with pecan banana biscuit, caramel passion fruit crème brûlée, chocolate biscuit and..
