About This Me & This Website
I’m Tina Wong; I work in the health care industry with a Master’s degree. A native New Yorker who loves to eat, bake, and occasionally cook almost always with my dSLR on hand. I’m a self-described chocolate hedonist, java junkie, adventurous eater, and home baker (more toward the intermediate skill).
I love food (cringe and detest the word “foodie”) and photograph it to the best of my abilities. Food brings everyone together. I believe food connects us by culture, intellectually, arguably emotionally, and possibly gain some insight from what was eaten and drink.
This website is mostly the food ventures whenever I eat out (and think it’s worthwhile to photograph and write about; I do not use stock photos). There are posts about things I bake or cook at home; cookbook reviews, artisan made foods and wines, beautiful and useful houseware items and beverage reviews. All reviews are objective and the photographs are professionally done.
I have shot for clients such as WhiteWave Foods, a number of restaurants in the New York City area, and most recently, Pat LaFrieda (some of my work seen here or a few below).
If you would like to read about my photography usage, please read this page.
Over time, I have done food & event photography projects for several restaurants in the NYC area and for Le Grand Fooding that took place on September 2010 (link to the featured article and to their official website).
My photo of Raymond Vineyards’ Crystal Room have been featured on Forbes.com “7 California Wine Experiences You Can’t Get Anywhere Else” (link to Forbes’ story)
Well, if you have Facebook, you may “Friend” me. In regards to the Friend part, please write a brief message about who you are or I won’t friend you.
I have a Twitter account here (my Twitter username is twanderingeater NOT wanderingeater. Long story…). You may follow along my boring (or strange) stream of thoughts. Most likely it’ll be food ramblings.
I also post on Tumblr, a casual annex of this blog but it’s more of a hybrid of my Flickr photostream and this blog. At certain times, my Tumblr page will cover some things that this site will not (e.g. some food event experience, dining experience, a fashion-related infatuation, etc.).
For questions, comments, write an editorial or freelance work (writing or food/restaurant photography); you may contact me at: firstname.lastname@example.org. Please be clear on your Subject line and I’ll respond to you in a timely manner.
